Rachel Anne McAdams
Rachel Anne McAdams is the daughter of
Sandra Kay (Gale), an Ontario nurse, and Lance Frederick McAdams a truck driver
and furniture mover. She was born in London, Ontario on November 17 in 1978.
She is English, Welsh and Irish-born. Rachel began acting at the age of
thirteen. Already, she was performing in Shakespearean productions at summer
theater camps. Rachel graduated with honors from York University with a BFA in
Theater. Following her first appearance in the episode of Disney's The Famous
Jett Jackson (1998) She was a co-star in the Canadian television series Slings
and Arrows (2003), a comedy-drama about the challenges and struggles of the
Shakespearean theater group. She received an Gemini award for her performance
in 2003.Her debut role in the role of Regina George in the hit comedy Mean
Girls (2004) instantly put her on the short list of the top Hollywood's young
actresses. After that she was cast alongside Ryan Gosling as the romantic drama
adaptation of Nicholas Sparks' bestseller The Notebook (2004). This was a huge
success in the box office and became the most watched romantic drama for a
young audience. McAdams had a meeting with Gosling while filming. They dated
through the middle of 2007. McAdams is next in film with comedy Wedding Crashers
(2006), the action thriller Red Eye (2004), as well as the holiday-themed drama
The Family Stone ((2005)). McAdams also explored independent film with Married
Life (2007) which was premiered at the Toronto Film Festival. It also featured
Pierce Brosnan and Chris Cooper in addition to Patricia Clarkson. She also
starred in the military drama The Lucky Ones (2007) and the thriller about
newspapers State of Play (2009), and the romance The Time Traveler's Wife

the fiery producer in Morning Glory (2010). McAdams also played Owen Wilson's
fiancee, who was a materialist in Midnight in Paris (2011). McAdams then
returned to romantic drama in The Vow (2012) with Channing Tatum. McAdams is
also a part of Terrence Malick in To the Wonder (2012), and Noomi Rapace in
Passion (2012) in Brian De Palma's thriller.
