Bruce Willis

The actor and musician Bruce Willis is well known for his wise-cracking or hard-edged characters, usually in stunning action films. Together, they've been featured in movies that have grossed more than $2.5 billion dollars. Walter Bruce Willis was born on March 19, 1955, in Idar-Oberstein in West Germany, to a German mother, Marlene Kassel, and an American father, David Andrew Willis (from Carneys Point, New Jersey) and was living at an United States military base. His family moved to America shortly after his birth. He grew up in Penns Grove (New Jersey) where his mother was a bank clerk and his father was an electrician as well as a worker in the factory. Willis was an avid drama fan during his high school. While working in a New York City café, it was reported that he was "discovered". Then, he was able to be seen in a handful of off-Broadway productions. He was bartending one night when a casting director spotted his charm and approached for his services as an bartender in a short film. After numerous auditions, Willis contributed minor film appearances that were often uncredited, prior to getting the role of private surveillance "David Addison" alongside sultry Cybill Shepherd in the smash romantic comedy television series Moonlighting (1985). His humorous and wisecracking P.I. Some view it as a practice run to test Willis the role he played in Die Hard (1988), where he defeated the thieves of a gang from an Los Angeles skyscraper. In the sequel, Die Hard 2 (1990) Willis reprised his character as McClane. The plot set in Washington's Dulles International Airport where a group of rebellious Special Forces soldiers are trying to return an unjust South American general. A sequel, Die Hard with Avengeance (1995), was a hit. It starred Samuel L. Jackson as a cynical Harlem shopowner who is forced to join forces with McClane in a attack in the midst of a scorching New York day.
