Steve Aoki

Steve Aoki was created in Miami, Florida on the 30th of November 1977. American electro-house musician, record producer, D.J. Music executive. He is the third son of Rocky Aoki and Chizuru Kbayashi. His father, who was a former wrestler, was also the co-founder of the restaurant chain Benihana. He has two older siblings who are sisters Kana, who is often known as Grace due to her middle name Grace, as well as brother Kevin (owner of Doraku Sushi). Half-sister Devon Aoki is a model and actress. He grew up in Newport Beach, California & graduated from Newport Harbor High School in 1995. There, he was on the varsity badminton team. After having graduated from UC Santa Barbara with a Bachelor of Arts, he attended UC Santa Barbara. degrees: one in feminist studies, and the one in sociology. He was a student at the college who made records on his own and hosted underground music in his Biko area at the Santa Barbara Student Housing Cooperative. The Pickle Patch became a concert venue in the time that the apartment was known as The Pickle Patch. He was also active in student activism at UCSB, being the founder of a Revolutionary Anti-Imperialist League chapter on campus. In the early 20s, Dim Mak had founded his own record label, that he named Dim Mak after his favorite childhood idol Bruce Lee. The label came out with I'm IN THE HOUSE, an album that was co-written with the Zuper Blahq alter ego of will.i.am. The song charted at the top of the charts at No. 29 on the U.K. singles chart in its initial week. It later entered the U.K. Dance Chart & the U.K. Indie Chart, reaching the top 5 spots on both charts. It was featured on MTV's Jersey Shore, as well as the feature film Piranha and the trailer for Think Like A Man. Producer-songwriter Lucas Secon confirmed in a May 2010 interview w/ HitQuarters, that he and Rivers Cuomo had recently worked together with Aoki on the single. In 2012, Pollstar designated him as the highest grossing dance artist in North America from tours. He has worked with artists such as Iggy Azalea, Afrojack, LMFAO, Linkin Park, Will.i.am, Lil Jon, Blink-182, Laidback Luke, BTS, Louis Tomlinson, Rise Against, Vini Vici & Fall Out Boy. He's known for remixes with artists like Kid Cudi
