Beyonce Giselle Knowles was conceived in Houston, Texas on September 4 in 1981. Tina Knowles-Lawson, her mother is the designer of their sparkling costumes. Mathew Knowles is Destiny's Child's managing director. Solange her older sister (4 years older than her), is releasing her first album. She dances with her big sister at DC-3 concerts. Beyonce is from Louisiana Creole and African descent. She and her group were discovered by Whitney Houston. One of her favorites is "Lovefool" by The Cardigans. An elegant pair of path boots for work is her favorite piece of clothing. She wrote and produced a lot of the group's hits that have been hit singles, such as "Jumpin Jumpin", "Bootylicious", "Nasty Girl", "Independent Women", "Happy Face" and "Apple Pie a la mode". She is the singer-songwriter for Destiny's Child. She opened for Christina Aguilera in 2000. TLC was their opening show (1999). There is a cat named Master P. She attended the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in Houston, Texas. Solange is Nixon and Koi Knowles' older half sister. She was once in Star Search (1983). In 2001, she was the first woman from Africa to ever receive the ASCAP Pop Songwriter of the Year Award. She is a great fan of Middle Eastern music, dance and the Middle Eastern culture. Her most popular hit song is her song "Crazy in Love", which she released in 2003. Her appearances on awards shows include the Radio Music Awards, MTV Europe Video Music Awards, and Billboard Awards. In November 2003, Bono of U2 organized the South African AIDS benefit concert. The goal was to combat the AIDS epidemic in sub Saharan Africa. (February 8 2004) She was awarded five Grammy Awards, including Best Contemporary R&B Album for "Dangerously in Love" The singer took home the most accolades at the (2004) performance. Her father, Mathew, is of African-American descent. Her mother, Tina, is of Louisiana Creole origins - mostly African and French, with ancestors from Louisiana as well as, prior to that, Canada. Beyonce is 1/32 Irish and has distant Breton and Spanish, Indonesian and Chinese roots. According to reports, she has said that in order to overcome her shyness, she created the stage persona "Sasha".
